Professor Charles Kingsland is the Chief Medical Officer at Care Fertility, bringing his wealth of expertise to contribute to the leadership and medical direction of the group.

Training

Professor Charles Kingsland trained in Reproductive Medicine and IVF at the Middlesex Hospital and Bourne Hall clinic.

Career

After completing fertility training in Cambridge and London in the late 1980s, Charles founded the Hewitt Fertility Centre in Liverpool, driven by the goal of providing the highest quality NHS service within the United Kingdom. Thanks to his dedication and expertise, Charles has become one of the world’s outstanding fertility specialists, sought after for lectures and speaking engagements. In 2012, he earned the title of Professor, recognizing his outstanding contributions.

As media spokesman for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Professor Kingsland is a familiar face on television and radio programmes, sharing his expert insights. A BBC documentary in 2014 showcased his work in Liverpool. In 2017, having achieved his initial goals of establishing the UK's largest NHS In vitro Fertilisation unit, he joined the Care Fertility Group as its Clinical Director.

He now brings his immense knowledge and experience to the Group, whilst remaining well connected to the North West as the Medical Director of Care Fertility Liverpool. Together with his handpicked staff of outstanding doctors, nurses and scientists, he provides sensible, personalised advice and treatment that only a professional lifetime’s experience within the specialty can provide.

Membership of Professional Bodies

Charles served on the Executive Board of the British Fertility Society for many years and was Meetings Secretary for six years. He was also instrumental in establishing NHS funding for IVF in Cheshire, Merseyside and Wales.

Amongst his many other National and International roles, Charles was a Fellow on the Council of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists from 2010 to 2016.

He was appointed Professor at the Post Graduate Medical Institute at Edge Hill University in 2012 and has established Mastership Courses in Advanced Fertility Practice for Nurses and Doctors alike, together with an active Research Programme.
