Claire Rutherford
Career
Claire qualified as a radiographer in 1989, and ultrasound in 1992. She worked initially in obstetrics and gynaecology before focusing on fertility for the last 24 years. She has managed a large private radiology department, an IVF unit in the North of England, before moving into the pharmaceutical industry as national clinic development manager in 2004.
During her career Claire has become one of the best-known individuals in the fertility sector and has helped to develop one of the UK’s largest overseas egg donation programmes, as well as promoting nurse education in fertility practice, organising and running a national education course, the Northern Nurses Conference for the last 20 years. Since joining Care Fertility as Clinic Director in Leeds she has continued to use her multiple skill set and energy to run one of Care’s largest clinics as well as continuing to help develop nurse education with the annual nurse conference and helping Care develop a new MSc module in Fertility Ultrasound.
