In her current role, Iria is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the laboratory. Her role includes ensuring compliance with regulations and upholding the highest standards possible.

Training

Iria studied Molecular Biology at A Coruña in Spain and Palermo University in Italy. She further enhanced her academic qualifications by earning a Master’s degree with distinction in Biotechnology of Human Assisted Reproduction at the University of Valencia in Spain. Upon completing her master's degree, Iria took advantage of various opportunities to engage in work experiences and internships in the field of embryology in both Spain and Italy.

Career

Iria embarked on her career as an embryologist in London in 2013 and later became a valuable member of the Care Fertility London team in 2017. During her tenure, she successfully completed her ACE Diploma in Clinical Embryology and secured her registration as a Clinical Scientist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Specialities & Credentials

Iria is a dedicated professional with a passion for genetics and embryo biopsy. She actively represents the London team at Care Fertility's Biopsy Focus Group, where the primary focus is on advocating for education, training, and technical excellence. Iria takes pride in mentoring junior embryologists, contributing to their professional growth, enhancing their performance and preparing them for future responsibilities.

Iria is a member of the Association of Reproductive and Clinical Scientists (ARCS) and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
