Dr Jaya Dhulkotia

Fertility Specialist
Dr Jaya Dhulkotia is a Fertility Specialist at Care Fertility Plymouth, bringing with her over 25 years of experience in obstetrics and gynaecology. Day-to-day, she oversees all aspects of Assisted Conception including consultations, scanning, IUI, egg recoveries and embryo transfers.

Training

Jaya received her Undergraduate (MBBS) and Postgraduate medical education (MD) from the institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (India). She has completed her Specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Southwest Deanery UK.

She had special interest in Fertility and has trained in Fertility in Plymouth where she has been working as a consultant.

She has special interest in Evidence based Medicine and has trained medical students, junior doctors and General public in Critical Appraisal skills .

Her international training experience, coupled with her dedication to continuous learning, contributes to her ability to navigate the complexities of assisted reproduction with expertise.

Career

Jaya completed her specialised training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (India). During her Training in the UK, she has worked at different units  including Oldham, Stepping Hill (Manchester), Sheffield, Norwich, and Plymouth, and completed her CCST in 2015. She has been working as a Consultant since 2015.

Driven by her particular interest in reproductive endocrinology and assisted conception, she joined Fertility Unit in Plymouth where she trained and has been working since 2020.

Her current role involves providing comprehensive care to patients requiring Assisted conception. She has special interest in outpatient hysteroscopy and fertility preservation. Jaya is proficient in all aspects of assisted conception and strongly believes in providing personalised, tailored care to all of her patients.

Jaya is a member of the British Fertility Society (BFS) , BMA and RCOG.
