Dr. Madhurima (Rima) Rajkhowa MD FRCOG, is a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine Care Fertility Birmingham and Care Fertility Tamworth. She brings over 20 years extensive experience in the field of Fertility and Assisted Conception, having worked in both the NHS and the Private sector.

Training

Dr. Rajkhowa has always had a passion for teaching and training within Reproductive Medicine and is an active member of the Subspecialty Training Committee of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She further demonstrated her commitment to the field by serving as the subspecialty training program director for the region until 2018.

Dr. Rajkhowa is currently the Clinical Supervisor for PhD Fellows undergoing training in the clinic, contributing to the development of future professionals in the field. This dedication is reflected in her extensive list of published works in the field of Reproductive Medicine. Her MD thesis focused on insulin resistance in women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, showcasing her commitment to advancing knowledge in the field.

Additionally, her publications include the patient perspective on important issues such as discontinuation of patients and cumulative pregnancy rates. The insights and results of this research continue to play a vital role in informing patient management strategies.

Career

Rima brings over 20 years extensive experience in the field of Fertility and Assisted Conception, having worked in both the NHS and the Private sector. In 2002, she was appointed Consultant Gynaecologist and Lead for Fertility Services at Ninewells Hospital in Scotland. Later, in 2009, she relocated to Birmingham as the Clinical Lead for the Fertility and Assisted Conception Services at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital. In 2018, she joined the Care Fertility as Medical Director, overseeing the set up of our clinic in Birmingham. Rima holds the position of Medical Director for both Care Fertility Birmingham and Care Fertility Tamworth.

Rima's wealth of knowledge and experience extends to managing all aspects of subfertility, reproductive health, and assisted conception treatment for couples facing challenges in conceiving. She offers an informed and dedicated service with compassion and empathy, catering to patients undergoing treatment for the first time or those with a more complex history. Her specialities include Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, recurrent failed implantation and miscarriage, pre-implantation diagnosis and screening, and management of patients requiring surrogacy.

Throughout her career, Dr Rajkhowa has received several clinical excellence awards. Despite these accolades, her main focus remains providing the highest standards of patient care, ensuring clear information and support is readily available to help patients to achieve their dream of a family.
