Phoebe Babbington
Training
Phoebe completed her embryology training via the Scientist Training Programme (STP) for Reproductive Science at St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester. This included a three-year part time MSc in Clinical Science (Reproductive Science) from the University of Nottingham from which she graduated with distinction. Part of her training included a research project which involved the development and optimisation of an in-vitro model to assess the early stages of human embryo implantation. This work contributed to work that was eventually published in the Journal of Human Reproduction.
Career
After completion of her training, Phoebe moved to Care fertility in 2015. Initially she worked as a clinical embryologist at our Tunbridge Wells clinic, then moved to our London clinic where she progressed a senior embryologist. Phoebe has also spent some time on the ACE executive committee as the ACE STP representative. In 2021, Phoebe became the Deputy Lab manager at Care Fertility London. She helps manage a lovely team of people that includes senior embryologists, clinical embryologists, pre-registrant scientists and laboratory technicians.
Specialities & Credentials
During her time Care Fertility Phoebe has been involved in various Scientific Focus Groups (Andrology and Oocyte Vitrification Optimisation) to help promote continuous improvement and best practice guidance to embryologists within the Care Fertility group. Phoebe spends the majority of her time ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the busy London IVF lab, as well as her involvement in cryo-management, lab equipment maintenance, and management of international imports and exports of frozen gametes and embryos.
