Melody Jansen van Rensburg

Nursing & Clinical Manager
Melody leads the Nursing, Midwifery and Clinical Professionals team at Care Fertility Birmingham. She is responsible for the delivery of patient-centric care, setting and upholding standards for clinical professional practice, ensuring compliance with good governance, and delivering evidence-based clinical care through a skilled and competent workforce.

Training

Melody studied for her Nursing Qualifications at the Natal College of Nursing in South Africa and UNISA (University of South Africa). Her qualifications cover a range of specialities, including General Nursing, Midwifery, Psychiatry, and Community Health. Additionally, she completed post-basic training in Operating Theatre Nursing Science and Nursing Administration & Education. 

Career

Melody established her nursing career as a theater scrub nurse, gaining experience in both public and private sectors in South Africa. Her managerial career began as a Quality and Infection Prevention Specialist, where she developed skills in Clinical Governance, Patient Experience Management and ISO Accreditation. She later returned to her Theatre roots as a Theatre Manager of a complex multidisciplinary unit, overseeing a team of 80 staff.

Her career progression led her to become a Nurse Manager in Acute Care, where she gained experience in Nursing Strategy Implementation, delivering cost-effective care in a Quality environment. Melody went on to manage a large hospital within the same group before relocating to the UK in March 2022. Since September 2022, Melody has been a valuable member of the Care Fertility Birmingham team in her current role.
